Energy Trading

ESCMO (JSC) provides energy trading services to consumers receiving energy from both wholesale and retail electric energy (power) markets.

Agency Contract for Provision of Energy Trading Services is a contract under which the consumer requests, and ESCMO (JSC) undertakes to render on behalf and at the expense of the consumer a set of services related to the representation of interests and execution of transactions for the purchase and sale of electric energy (power). The amount of fee to be paid by the consumer to ESCMO (JSC) is to be determined in accordance with the terms of the contract.

Energy trading-related services:

  • next day hourly forecasting of delivery point cluster consumption;
  • posting information on the maximum hourly consumption on SO UES's website;
  • determining price and volume parameters of the bids submitted to ATS (JSC) trading platform;
  • submission of scheduled per hour consumption requests for consumers with hourly scheduling on the retail electricity market;
  • development of tactics and submission of bids in ATS (JSC) auctions;
  • monitoring the actual daily consumption against scheduled hourly values; development of measures to adjust the accuracy of forecasts;
  •  preparation and coordination of the monthly integrated act with the regional power grid company;
  • preparation and implementation of the payment settlement schedule for electricity purchased under contracts using the funds received from customers;
  • monitoring the accuracy and reliability of the actual patterns of payments received from ATS (JSC) during the previous period. Resolution of operational issues with ATS (JSC) and CFR (CJSC), if any ;
  • performance of (conclusion of contracts, monitoring of the accuracy of payment invoices, preparation and implementation of the internal payment schedule using consumers' funds) contract work with the market infrastructure organizations (SO UES (JSC), Regional Power Grid Company, ATS (JSC), CFR (CJSC), Mosenergobirzha (JSC), etc.)
  • addressing current operational issues with the market infrastructure organizations;
  • cooperating with WEPM entities;
  • development of specifications (volumes and prices), economic justification, conclusion and management of free bilateral contracts;
  • development of tactics and submission of bids for exchange-traded power.
